Our Services And Your Involement

The Bharat Bhavan Foundation (BBF) is a non-profit organization that has been providing services to the Indo-Canadian community-pro-bono-for several decades. Here, we shall list our charitable contributions to the South-Asian community as follows…

  • English, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi classes at flexible hours. Reading and writing materials will be provided. Call (514) 270-7500 to register.

  • Provides document translation and interpreter services in many languages, including English, French, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Punjabi, and Arabic.

  • Provides Visa services for people who wish to travel to India. We also provide income-tax services and documents. Call either office to set an appointment.

  • Provides computer classes for beginners and experts at flexible hours. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Explorer, C++, and technical aspects of computers are taught. Call the Parc-Extension office to register.

  • Provides photocopying, faxing, printing, and internet services at both the Parc-Extension and Place. St. Henri offices.

  • Head office contains a rec room where visitors can play pool; listen to music, and watch satellite television for free. We also have a small library in the basement where people can read or borrow books for free.

  • The BBF is initiating a tutoring campaign for students from grade 5-11. We can help students with Science, Math, and English courses. For more information, please contact the Parc-Extension Office at (514) 270-7500.

Finances

The activities and programs of Bharat Bhavan are funded by the generosity of Indo-Canadian Community, predominantly by financial donations by individuals and business people. We are also thankful for the financial assistance from three levels of Canadian governments, who fund specific projects of the Foundation.

Get Involved

The BBF is primarily a volunteer organization. If you have desire, the will and the time to help your fellow community members, please give us a call. We will provide you the support to become the proud volunteer in the community.

Looking for Translators

Bharat Bhavan maintains a network of community resources to help people communicate with the official government, public and para-public organizations. We are always looking for new resources and volunteers with unique language skills and talents in following Indo-Canadian languages. Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Kannad, Malyali, Orissi, Bihari, Rajasthani, and other languages from India.

Urgent Appeal for Funds

In 2007, Bharat Bhavan is undertaking the long awaited renovation project to improve its existing facility. The project, which includes the full paid job, repair to main entrance system, improved ventilation, modernize washroom facilities, office space for sister organizations, drop-in-center for youth, installing thermal windows and improving heating and lightning, is estimated to cost $ 100, 000.
